Where Can I Get A Pet Dog?

Answer Question

Many people give them away in the newspapers. You can go to the pound and purchase one there, this will ensure that they are fixed, and have all their shots and their papers. There are many breeds also, some that eat a little or a lot. Some that need a lot of attention, and others that are low maintenance. Good luck.

Go to a local shelter.  They have the best value, because their animals are temperament tested and given shots and health checks before being adopted out.   Shelters will also be sure you are prepared to have a pet before you bring one home.  With so many people getting rid of pets they don't want any more each year, it's very important to get a great fit for you.

If you get one from the newspaper, you will be taking in someone else's problem animal.

If you instead get one from a breeder, you'll be encouraging breeders to breed more.  With millions of unwanted great pets being put to sleep every year, we certainly don't need that.Besides, purebreds have significantly more health issues and behavior issues bred into their breeds, and they cost more!  Why would anyone want that?????!!!!
