How Many People Fought In World War 1?

    Almost 70 million soldiers took part in fighting during the world war I. 60 million of the soldiers were Europeans. The war claimed caused 40 million casualties of which 20 million were killed including both civilians and military personnel. The war was fought between the prevalent empires around that time namely the German Empire, British Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Italian fascist regime etc. Most of those wars were fought on the European fronts and resulted in the dismemberment of Ottoman Empire with the rise of Modern Turkey under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atta Turk.
