You need at least 8 mega pixels camera for good result as you need to take photos of wildlife. Kindly check the link below for the best of your choice. They all are good cameras but my choice is Sony and Canon.

Further to this, I'd like to add that if you are serious about your photography and have a decent budget, you want to be looking at an SLR (Single Lens Reflex) or, more likely in this day and age, DigitalSLR, unit, and probably a telephoto lens (to get close to the wildlife, without disturbing it!).  Obtaining an SLR unit rather than a normal camera is probably more important than simply the number of mega-pixels, tho a quick Google shows that most SLR's are in the 8-10 mega-pixel range now anyway.

Oh, and for post processing, make sure you get a camera that is capable of outputting what is called "RAW format" rather than JPG/JPEG (which is what most cameras store pictures as) because the conversion to JPG/JPEG is still compressing the image, and you don't want to lose any quality with this kind of work.

Other manufacturers include Kodak, Fujifilm and Olympus - but really, forget the brand, just look for something that does everything you need, in your price range, then dump it's name into Google with +review at the end of it - this should tell you if what you are looking at is a lemon, or a golden egg!

      Hope this helps!

Wildlife photography usually means a long telephoto lens.  Some of the simpler cameras go to 12x zoom, Sony and Canon for sure.  They are small enough to keep with you.  But if you are going to be dedicated to the hobby, get an SLR camera.  As far as mega-pixels go, they all have enough--good photography of any sort is about the shooter:  Compose correctly, expose correctly, and do not jiggle the camera (use a tripod) and you have just outshot 90% of the crowd
