Which Dog Is A Better Family Dog?
I am thinking of getting a dog, but I have 2 that I know I want. Either a German Shepard, or a Siberian Husky. I want a dog that can be both loving and a family dog also! Help! I want to make sure I get the right one and love it unconditionally!

Any dog can be a good family dog if it is raised right. German Shepard's are excellent dogs for any family if they are trained right. They are very easy to train, too. Just remember to socialize your new pet with other dogs and people by taking them to the park or the pet stores. Golden Retrievers and Labrador are always the first pick when it comes to family dogs. They are very loving and seek attention constantly. They will play nice and don't mind too much grabbing and poking from small children. Puppies will always nip and bite and scratch though. So you may want to seek out a full grown dog if you're trying to aviod that. Although, with full grown dogs, you don't know their true nature about certain things. Check out your local Humane Society.

German Shepard's can be dominant, the females are known for nipping. Huskies are work dogs and need a "pack" around and a job to do to not be neurotic and barky. Try a city/family dog like the labs and retrievers, Soft-coated Wheaton terriers make good pets. You may find a mutt at the Rescue centre and save a life!

I honestly have never met a neurotic, barky husky. They are not known for there barking at all. We have had one since she was about 8 weeks she is now almost 13 years old. She is a great dog. She was a little stubborn as far as housetraining and she sheds something awful, but those are my only complaints. Barky? That's just silly. Oh, they do need a lot of exercise.
