I had sex for the first time at seventeen, it was a good age for me, I had been with him for a year and a half, and we stayed together for nearly four years until parting ways. I would recommend waiting until you have someone that you know and trust, spend time together doing other things first and learn about each others bodies, it will be better that way. Seventeen give or take is a good age, I agree with Cmarrero. You should be mature enough to handle the emotions that come with it and be able to figure out how to enjoy yourself safely.

I think its different for everyone. I'm 25 and still a virgin. I believe that sex is something special that two people share when they are in love and have not been in love yet. Not all people feel that way though. I think first you need to figure out what sex means to you. Once you know that answer, I think you'll feel in your heart when the time is right for you. Just make sure that you practice safe sex.

Like MamaCass, I was 17 and I knew the girl. I knew her for a long time (about 5 minutes---only kidding). I think for a woman she needs to feel extremely comfortable. Not that it's comfortable for us guys. It's difficult to explain, but you will know when the time is right, it's magical and everything clicks into place.
