Agent Orange was used in Vietnam War .It was named as Agent Orange because of the orange-striped barrels, it was shipped in.It was developed in 1940s by independent teams in England and the United States for chemical warfare purposes and post World War II for domestic use in controlling broad-leaf plants.
It was to be used by the U.S. military to clear fire bases of the Pro-Communist Vietcong and to destroy their food supply; however, it was used extensively in South Vietnam, destroying the South Vietnamese rice crop, making them dependent on the U.S. for rice imports. It was sprayed directly on waterways and in areas of U.S. troop movement. Many troops were told they had "dirty blood", others would suffer from cancers and other diseases.
The use of such explosives put millions of people to the verge of death.
