How Is An Orgasm Associated With Enlightenment?

As a part of Eastern Tartaric beliefs, it is sometimes held that a person experiences enlightenment at the point of orgasm. The French have called Orgasm the little death or "le petit mort". It is believed by them that at that instant man looses all sense of self or the ego and rises above the earthly plane. A person experiences ecstasy that is beyond any type of joy associated to the material world and earthly possessions.

Some believe that the sensation was built into man to help him realize a deeper truth and achieve a greater plain of being.  It is believed that the sensation felt at that point helps man bridge the gap between this world and the divine. Various beliefs like Tantra seek to prolong the sensation but others argue that the tension built up in the nerves can only be a temporary or short term thing.
