What Records Exist For Ireland Between 1798 And 1921?

    For 1798 the year of the Rebellion there is a list of Person who suffered Losses in the Rebellion. this lists individuals who sought compensation for property destroyed by rebels. the records are mainly for those owning property in counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Wexford and Wicklow.

    From 1831 -1921 the are the National School Records. By 1831 a system of primary education was established by the Board of Commissioners for National Education. Scholl registers exist record names, ages of pupils, fathers name and address, religion, occupations and other more general comments. In the Irish Republic these registers are not centralised and remain in local custody.
    In Northern Ireland PRONI hold the registers of over 1,500 schools over the six counties.

    In 1876 over 32,614 owners of land were recorded in the Landowners in Ireland: Return of owners of land of one acre and upwards. Owners are listed by county and include addresses.
