This Question Is Answered:
Is it normal for a hermit crab to shed its skin without going under the sand??
I have had my hermit crab for about a year or so umm...yes it is a reptile for sure but usually it goes under the sand for about 3 weeks or so while it changes its skin.but today i thought that my hermit was dead but when I picked it up there was somthing inside the shell...it was my hermit. I'm scared because i thought that they change under the sand not in their shell....please if anyone knows....will my hermit die while it's canging in its shell or will she, my hermit crad live???

Yes ,sometimes they will even walk with out the shell until they are ready to get into a bigger one, but if there isn't a bigger shell when it comes out of the old one for him to go into he will die
