Why Are Fingerprints Taken?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Fingerprints are taken because no one else in the world has the same fingerprints as you do. So is you were to shoot somebody with a gun and the cops found the gun with your fingerprints they know for sure that it was from you. A simile for this would be snowflakes because no two snowflakes are the same.

Simply put they are a means of identification for a number of purposes.  Fingerprints are original to each individual person.
