National Bank of Pakistan is functioning since mid 70s and it is a sub-sidery of the State Bank of Pakistan. It is the only government bank after the State Bank of Pakistan.

National Bank of Pakistan was established in 1949 under the Banking ordinance of Pakistan. It is totally owned by government. NBP holds 24.6% shares of deposits in the country.
