Can One Make A Proper Car Using Hydro Electricity?

I am new to Blurtit and would like to ask questions but I am not sure how to fill in the ask question section on the site itself.

There is no car devised that can be run from hydro-electricity, because to generate power from water one need to have a very fast flow of water that's why it can only be set near rivers or high speed streams. It can also be used for domestic purposes to generate power for refrigerator and other domestic appliances. But this technology is not advanced enough to use for movable bodies.

The Stanley Steamer was a car in the early 1900s that can be said to have "run on water."  The factor, however, that makes that statement not quite true is that heat was required to convert the water into steam that propelled the steam engine that then turned the drive wheels of the car. BTW, these cars were very fast for their day.

What provided the heat energy, no grief?

The Steamer first used vaporized gasoline for fuel and later converted to kerosene. This is as reported in Wikepedia which also reports some amazing data about its speed. Though it didn't say so in the article, I believe the engine was able to move the car without the need for a multi-stage transmission.

It is not clear whether you actually mean, 'run a car on water'. If you do, you may find these Blurtit Q&As useful:

If you really do mean hydro-electricity, then the only way I can think of is to have a fully electric car that you charge up from mains electricity where your supplier sells energy produced from a hydro-electric scheme.
