Yes, pre – natal vitamins definitely help with improving the texture, look and growth of your hair. They not only help with the hair, but also with skin and nails.
Almost all pregnant women are required to take an enormous amount of vitamin pills. They most often are required to take extra iron too. The taste of these extra vitamins the first time around may make the pregnant woman sick, however the second time around they usually do not taste that bad.
Prenatal vitamins are designed to help the baby grow and develop. They prevent the mother's body from lacking any nutrients and ensures the supply of all required nutrition to the developing baby. Since they usually contain all the essential vitamins and minerals, the pre – natal pills have a very positive effect on the hair, skin and nails of the mother too. Mostly, after the baby is born and when women stop taking these vitamins, there is a unusually high loss of hair! It is believe that this is because the pre – natal vitamins prevent the hair from falling while you are taking then and when you stop taking them the extra hair starts falling out. This is just a common belief and I am not sure how true it is. However, pre – natal vitamins contain Vitamin A, C and E among other vitamins and nutrients which are very helpful with hair and skin.
However, if you are not pregnant, you should not use pre – natal vitamins for your hair or skin alone. Because these vitamins are designed primarily for the baby and not for you. Also they can make you feel sick! You should take the following vitamins and minerals for your hair
• Biotin
• Vitamin A
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin E
• Inositol
• Niacin and
• Pantothenic acid

How much of each vitamin do you take?
If your not pregnant and u take pre-natal vitamins do they still make your hair grow faster? Ive just started taking them because i heard that they work to make the hair grow faster.
Yes, pre-natal pills do work. I have six kids and for my first three children I did not take pre-natal pills because the father of my kids did not like me taking pills of any sort, because he has a primitive island mentality. However, with my fourth child and I became very anemic and my doctor said I had no choice but to take the pre-natal pills. My hair has always be shoulder length, but with my fourth child I started taking pre-natal pills and my hair grew from shoulder length down to my waist in 9 months. So, yes it really works.Reena

Hi! How are you? Ok... My father passed away and since then my hair keeps falling out BADLY! I have tried many treatments and wasn't successful with any.... I am only 17 and i am wondering if i could try the prenatal pills and if there would be any effects
What is said about not taking them if you are not pregnant depends on what your doctor has to say. I'm not pregnant but my doctor still prescribed them for me. So before you take them you should check with your doctor.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. I'm also 17 and I've been taking prenatal vitamins for over a year now, and it works. The only effect I've had was nausea, so do take the pills with a meal, like the directions say. It can also make you gain weight, but that never happened to me. Good luck!

I'm sorry about your lost. I had lost my Father too at 18 years old right after my high school graduation. You will be ok. Time goes by very fast and you will be abel to get over it before you know it. I survive that moment too. Be strong. One day we all going to joined again in Haven.
Best way to help with hair lost is Biotin vitamine ( 1 a day) so it doesn't finish too fast. The breaking you are experiencing is from stress. The biotin supose to make your hair strong and more resisting what ever it is, except cutting lol. CVS, WALGREEN, WALMART.....all carrying...... Good luck , let us know how you doing

Go to walmart and in the pharmacy section right next to the prenatal vit., you will see a green and yellow bottle labeled Hair, Nails, and skin. They are made by the same company who make prenatal vitamins that I use. *Spring Valley is the name of the brand*
