Depending on the health and the breed, Some Breeds mature sooner than others, But you can expect to start getting
eggs when your birds reach 4 to 8 months depending on the health and the breed, At first it is doubtful you will get 1 egg a day from every bird, But as the weeks pass soon you will get 1 egg every day from every healthy bird and this will continue for up to 9 - 12 months then they will molt and
go thru some changes they take a month or two off from laying then they will start all over again, Very rare is it you will get more than 1 egg a day from any chicken.
We've raised chicken for over 30 years. One thing that the other response didn't mention is that if they are moved they get stressed and stop laying for awhile. However, they will start laying again. The older the chicken the less eggs they lay. The closest thing to getting more than one egg from a chicken is a double yolked egg.
