    Indoor soccer is a kind of sport that is derived from the sport of soccer which is adapted to an indoor space like a skating rink. This sport is pretty popular in the United States, having both amateur as well as professional groups devoted to the sport. In recent times, the sport of indoor soccer has come to be a popularly played sport in Mexico and has even started to be on of the games in the University National Games (Universiada).

    The original rules for the game were formulated by Juan Carlos Ceriani in the year 1930. in the year 1939, the ASL (American Soccer League) held sporadic matches in the Madison Square Garden.


    In Mexico, indoor soccer fields are usually outdoors, and the game is called by the name 'futbol rapido' which means fast soccer.
