Ribble Valley is in Lancashire in England. It has a borough status and is a local government district. Clitheroe is where its council has its base. The area gets its name from the Ribble River. Tourists frequent the area because of its abundance of natural beauty and the Forest of Bowland. This district was created in 1974.

It is very peaceful and is usually referred to a rural haven.  It does not have much traffic and is therefore ideal for those looking for peace and quiet. Its country lanes are ideal for long walks or car drives. It has many fine tourist inns, market towns and attractions which make it a good tourist destination. It is home to the Salesbury CE Primary School and has a riding club called the Ribble Valley Riding Club.
