What's Causing My Car To Die When I Put It Into Drive?

The car runs fine. When in reverse and neutral but when i put it into drive it dies what's causing it to do that.

    Ok. It sounds like it may be a speed sensor. If it's a 4X4 its on the top back of the transfer case. If not it could be on the tail shaft of the transmission.
