Is -th A Suffix In The Word Health?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

That could be quite arguable among many people.  It is believe that health is its own word, but I do understand where you're coming from.  Perhaps the word "heal" could be combined with -th to make a word that could mean 'to live while healed' or 'living healed'...If I am any stray from the mark please let me know, but this is one I will definitely watch to see the answers for.  You'd have to ask someone who studies words and their origins for a real answer.  And even then it could be disputable.  You would have to come to the exact point in time when the word was formed to ask the person who had thought it and ask them why.
