Your fuel pump lives in the fuel tank back under the truck bed.
If it needs to be replaced you have two options:
Option #1. Drop the fuel tank. This can be very tricky if the tank is full of gas! And you will have a hard time routing the fuel lines and wires back into position.
Option #2. Lift the bed. Actually this is easier then dropping the tank! And you will be able to properly do the fuel pump work!

Option 2 works really well unless you have the crew (the four door) cab. In which case the fuel pump resides just underneath the very rear of the cab. Dropping the tank isn't really that bad. If you have an old beat up truck I saw where somebody had simply cut a hole in their bed just above the fuel pump.
