You did not mention what growing zone you are in, however, usually one waits to plant corn until all danger of frost is past. You can inter plant corn with green beans for a double crop. When planting corn, you may plant about two or three kernels to a hill or hole. About 12 inches apart might be okay. When corn is up and growing well, you should pull out two of the plants, leaving the one to thrive. Corn requires several "hoeings" , and a good fertilizer used for all vegetable growing. The hoeing is to remove weeds, and replace or move the dirt about the plant to refresh it. This method is the one we have used for over 50 years, and it has worked just fine. It may not be the same advice another would offer, however. Good luck.
