Answer Question

Born Elvis Aaron Presley on January 8th 1935, Elvis, or The King as he became known, started out as a singer of rockabilly, singing rhythm and blues, gospel and country and eventually falling into the most successful singer of rock and roll. Although his voice was instantly recognizable and his musical career spanned over two decades, he claimed that it all came from the heart and that he didn't have to be a trained musician to sing and play the guitar.
Presley set many records including, most concert attendance, most television ratings and most record sales and became an icon of modern American pop culture. It was thought that he represented the American Dream ~ rising from nothing to huge heights.
However, a life of drugs, alcohol and poor diet ended his life at the premature age of 42 when he died on 16th August 1977. His soul lives on in his music which is regularly copied, re-vamped and updated from time to time and always reaching the top of the charts again.
