Why Is My Cat Sick Immediately After Eating?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Vomiting can have many causes but if your cat is only sick immediately after eating, it suggest there is a problem with the upper digestive tract.  This could be an oesophageal or stomach problem like a stricture, or outflow obstruction caused by scarring, a tumour or a foriegn object.  Hyperthyroidism is common in older cats.  The thyroid glands are located in the neck, sometimes they become so enlarged they interfere with swallowing and it appears the cats are vomiting.  You will need to take your cat to the vet to investigate the underlying cause.  Chronic vomiting causes dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and malnutrition and it is best you seek to correct the problem as soon as possible.

Maybe allergies from whatever type of food you give it.
Take it to the vet to figure out what is the allergie.
