Which Films Have Been Produced By Dreamworks Studios?

Dreamworks is currently one of the top ten film studios in the United States, and has produced some of the most successful films of the last 12 years since its founding in 1994 by David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg. However, has been part of the Paramount film corporation since 2005, and has an independent animation studio. The first feature length film to be released by the company was the relatively unsuccessful film The Peacemaker in 1997. However, between 1999 and 2001 the studio achieved considerable commercial and critical success with American Beauty, Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind, with all three films achieving the Best Picture Oscar. Its animation department has produced Antz (1998) and the Shrek series (2001, 2004 and 2007), as well as Shark Tale (2004), Madagascar (2005) and Over the Hedge (2006). The studio also co-produce with other studios, including 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal, Warner Brothers and Columbia Pictures. The studio has scaled back its operations in recent years, and in March 2006 sold its live action library for an estimated $900 million dollars. Other films produced by the company include Saving Private Ryan, Meet the Parents, Anchorman and Munich.
