How Can You Tell When Your Daschund Is Pregnant?

Answer Question

You have confirmation done by your vet (who hopefully is experienced/specializes in reproduction). A quick blood test can be done and at the appropriate time it's standard to have ultrasound or x-ray done. Ultrasound and blood test can be done sooner and the x-ray's have to be at least 45 days in. I prefer ultrasound but not every clinic has one. In addition to confirmation, the visual's are used to tell the size and position of the pup's (ultrasound let's you know alive and well, or whether or not you have a uterine infection on your hand's and not pregnancy AND you get a cute pic) and whether or not you are very likely to have difficulties (your vet can also measure your girl's cervix in addition). As a side bonus you have a good idea of how many there are. Doxy's need assistance/c-section's pretty often and having a good relationship is often a huge help when they need a c-section and the clinic is closed. ;-). Good luck to you.
