Is It True That One Should Not Color Hair For A While After Surgery? If Yes, For How Long?

Answer Question

It takes around 4 to 6 months, (depending on how fast your hair grows),  for the anesthesia which is used to put you to sleep during surgery to work its way out of the body through the hair and skin.
If you color your hair earlier than that, it may not take the color very well and will most likely cause your hair to become dry and brittle, which will result in breakage.
Recommend that you layer your hair in order to cut off some of the hair that has the medication in it, because the medication itself will likely cause the hair to become somewhat brittle. Especially on the ends which are usually weaker and more damaged.
