What Conclusions Could Be Derived From The Recent Cricket World Cup About The ICC?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

With the early exit of teams like Pakistan and India, the Cricket World Cup 2007 would go in the record books as the least popular Cricket World Cup, managing to generate the highest degree of ennui with its insipid format and its predictable results.  Although there were many upsets that were pulled during the mega tournament nevertheless those upsets did nothing to restore the flavor of thrill in this otherwise bland banquet.

Nevertheless at least this tournament made one thing clear to all the stakeholders of cricket be it officials, players or even the cricket fans all around the world – the International Cricket Council has become increasingly myopic over the years and now it seems that it does not see beyond the dimension of earning money when it comes to the prospect of arranging cricket tournaments.  With such an attitude, one could not help but wonder what exactly is the future of international cricket.
