How Do I Decorate A French Parlour?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A French parlour refers to a formal sitting room in a large house or mansion. In the earlier days it denoted a room named as an "audience chamber". Both of them suggested that this room was used to receive visitors and entertain them. Thus generally this room was relatively larger than the other rooms in the house. This room is also known as a kiosk in other languages. Thus it is a reception room. It is also known as drawing room, sitting room, lounge etc.

To decorate a French parlour first of all you have to decide on the theme for it i.e. Victorian style, modernistic themes etc. then you have to decide on the colour schemes and the furniture that jell with the theme you have chosen. Then arrange it in a way that looks the most decorative while not giving a cluttered look. You can get the help of a professional to make it more effective and to steer you in the right direction.
