    Why Does My Hamster Have Dry And Scaly Skin On His Back?

    I don't think it is mites because his cage mate has no symptoms. They are both 2 and a half years old.

    There are many conditions which can cause dry and scaly skin conditions. These are seborrhea, atopic eczema, bacterial or fungal infection, allergy to food or chemicals. The treatment of dry and scaly skin depends upon the cause. So, first visit a Vet for diagnosis and then start treatment.
