What Is Chocolate Fridge Cake?

Chocolate fridge Cake is a really simple cake to make, because it requires no baking, so you don't have to worry about it rising !  It is also extremely delicious, very more-ish and unfortunately relatively high in fat, so it is an occasional treat as opposed to day to day food.
It is made by melting chocolate with some syrup and butter, then adding in some chopped digestive biscuits, raisins, nuts and cherries or even chopped dates or apricots.
It is then poured into a dish and basically just left to chill in the fridge until it sets.  Then it is eaten chilled.
Originally it was devised as a cake which children could make (obviously with some adult supervision) but over the last few years it has experienced a revival due to the likes of Jamie Oliver divulging his recipe.  Lots of different styles of fridge cake are available and they are usually all equally delicious !
