What Is Wrong With My Transmission On My 1991 4x4 Gmc 15000 Truck?

I have a 4x4 1500 gmc 1991 model truck and the transmission is not wanting to change gears when I am going at low speeds. When I am going fast the trans work fine. What would the problem be.

It is possible that your throttle valve is stuck in the transmission. I have run across this on several cars. The good news is that you can unstick it without tearing anything down, if will do the following:   Shift into neutral at about 40 mph and pop the throttle to the floor 3 or 4 times as fast as you can, then shift back into drive and see if your problem is fixed. My trans man told me about this years ago and I have used it sucessfully several times. Good luck.
