What Are Signs And Symptoms Of Mouth Cancer ?
My dentist told me to have my doctor do a biopsy of my gums because she saw white spots on one side of the inside of my mouth and not the other , she said spots on both sides and she wouldn't be concerned, but she is concerned with them on one side . She said dont let my doctors talk me out of a biopsy. It was in January 07 I plan to call dr, but I have been procrastinating. Can any one explain her concerns and further educate me to the seriousness of such a cancer.

Mouth tumor usually starts as a small, pale lump which then develops in many years and turns into an ulcer with hard, raised rim and a fragile center that bleeds easily. If the ulcer spreads over the tongue then the tongue muscles become rigid and stiff. This will cause trouble in eating, swallowing and talking. If it develops bigger than 10 mm then it might causes denture problems and even mild face distortion.

Signs and symptoms of early mouth cancer will include sores in the mouth or cheeks,lip areas of the inner,recurring and bleeding with little or no response to symptomatic treatment.
