I tried surfing in Australia 2 years ago. They said if i knew how to stand up, i could surf. Well, it wasn't that easy (for me, at least). First of all it's difficult to 'catch' the wave...you gotta really paddle your board to be in the correct position, which is EXACTLY on the front tip of the wave. If/when you get that part down, then you must stand up. Standing up was really not that hard. It's the initial positioning that stumped me. But then again, i am very clumsy and uncoordinated! Good luck....you can do it.
