        The first ever formula one race was held on September 1st 1946 in Turin, Italy and was known as Valentino Grand Prix. Formula one originates from the European Grand Prix motor racing. How ever Formula one was officially started in the year 1946. There were certain rules that were set up by Federation International de l'Automobiles (FIA). A world championship and a constructors championship was setup.

        Initially formula one was highly defined by engine capacity, mainly 4.5 litres was used or before the war 1.5 litre supercharged 'voiturettes' formula. The first ever formula one race the Valentino Grand Prix was won by Achille Varzi while driving an Alfa Romeo 158 Alfetta. Earlier Formula One had around twenty races which started in late spring and ended in early autumn. The current Formula 1 champion is Fernando Alonso and the constructor's championship is held by Renault.
