My Cat Doesn't Use The Litter Everytime She Does Her Business And Sometimes She Goes On The Couch Or On My Bed. I'm Not Sure What To Do Because I Love Her But Its Getting Out Of Hand Please Help?

The cat is five and i got her when she was 3. She came from a house with a bunch of kids and got beaten so she was very timid when i got her. She uses the litter sometimes but uses the couch and my bed other times. I need to fix this because i cant live with it and i really love her so i don't know what to do. I rub her face in it and lock her in the bath room for many hours but it still happens. Please help me so i can keep my cat.

Some cats are very funny about the liter box. My cat used to go other places a lot,and i found that i had to clean it constantly for her to go. If she can smell it or step in it she won't use it. The scoopable litter worked best for her. Hope this helps.
