Dig a hole about six inches deeper than the root ball and fill with good compost. Put in the tree gently, put soil around the tree and heel in. Put a stake to support the tree if necessary and adjust the tie as it grows. If you are in an area with rabbits etc you will need to protect the bark with a tree guard. Water the tree very well and keep it well watered until it is settled. Check for movement and re-firm if necessary.
