What Is The Summary Of The Poem The World Is To Much With Us By William Wordsworth?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Wordsworth points out how men at his time led their lives in a mercantile world and this in turn makes them alienated from nature. The speaker of the poem hopes that he can see pagan gods like Proteus and hear Triton's horn with his imagination while standing in the meadow and looking at the sea. This hope reflects how men in the past like the Greeks could live close to nature.
