Video cards differ on their types and manufactures; there are various types like 32bit, 64bit PCI card, AGP card etc. Video cards are better known as graphic cards. Video Card on the whole is a piece of computer hardware which serves the purpose of producing images on the display.
These cards generally are detachable cards which can be attached to a slot on the mother board, apart from graphic regulator built in the motherboard chipset. The Video card comprises of a printed circuit board on which mechanism is mounted. These consist of Graphic Processing Unit (GPU), Video Memory, and Video Bios.
GPU is a microprocessor which is committed to manipulating and depicting graphics according to the commands that it receives from the computer's OS (operating system) and also from the software.
