Go to beautiful Norfolk. The north coast is best between Cromer and Hunstanton. There is loads to do in the area and some excellent campsites. One of the best is at Kelling Heath near Holt: www.kellingheath.co.uk. If you like the beach then you will find some really excellent ones in the area. Check out Holkham on the A149 coast road (charge to park) and while there have a look at Holkham Hall. Nearby is the small harbour village of Wells-next-the-Sea a great place to spend the day. (Has a good campsite) Also visit Sheringham and Cromer, great seaside towns. Cromer has some fine Edwardian/Victorian architecture, a wonderful sandy beach, the best fish and chips and a very well kept Pier. If you want to have a look at some pictures of the area go to: www.norfolkpicturelibrary.couk

I don't know what kind of finances you have or where you live. But Alaska is something you will never forget. As I told someone the other day, there are polar bears up North. Texas is just one third of the size of Alaska, whales that you can go and see within a 30 mile drive, otters and sea lions on the coastline, there is berry picking in the fall, fishing for different species of salmon, you can take half day fjord or full day fjord tours halibut fishing, and so much more to do in the summer. Our temperatures in the summer can reach a comfortable 80 degrees.
There are camp grounds to stay in that can be very accommodating, i.e. showers, boat rentals, all kinds of things, local hiking, and hiking further out of the city on trails., rock climbing, mountains. I would hope you might consider our wonderful state, we do not live in the dark all the time, it is the land of the midnight sun.(in the summer) and we do not have snow all the time here. Hope this helps.
