What Is A Phrase That Can Have Dual Meaning?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is a phrase that when spoken, can mean more than one thing depending on what is emphasised.

Bring nothing with you, leave nothing behind.

It can mean that while you take nothing to the location, you can not leave anything there, however, it can also mean that you take everything that was already there with you.  Most people tend to interpret it the first way.

Phrases with dual meanings are most often used in poetry, such as "The Road Less Travelled."
