What Does Grumpy Mean?

The word grumpy is defined as a person who is crabby or perversely irritable. The synonyms of the word grumpy are irritable, cantankerous, cranky, ill-tempered, grouchy, complaining, cross and petulant.

Grumpy is the name of one of the seven dwarfs in the fairy tale in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Grumpy-dwarf is also a type of personality of some individuals. People with this type of personality like to see the smooth and systematic functioning of things, value competence, efficiency and like to see quick results, charge people, know what they expect, cannot tolerate people who do not deliver the goods, are self confident, assertive and need to know the standards for any assignment so that they can meet their expectations.
