Can You Tell Me Something About Early Life Of William Shakespeare?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

"William Shakespeare" was born in Stratford on 26th April 1564, his father's names is John Shakespeare. His was born at the family house on "Henley Street". Shakespeare might have attended "King Edward VI Grammar School" in central Stratford, but there is no more school records of the time survive. As he was the son of a prominent officer of town, he was entitled to attend school free of charge. When he was of eighteen, he married "Anne Hathaway". After his marriage he left few traces in the historical record until he appeared on the London theatrical scene.

The period from 1585 (the year in which his twin children were born) to 1592 are known as his "lost years" because there is found no evidence which shows exactly and accurately where was he or why did he leave Stratford for London. There are many stories which attempted to account for life of Shakespeare during this time period. One of these stories include that Shakespeare got in trouble for poaching the deer, another that he worked for sometime as a country school teacher, and another one that he minded the horses of theatre patrons in London. Though, there is no such direct evidence which can support all of these stories and they all actually appear to have begun circulating after the death of Shakespeare.
