    Pregnancy in dogs can be of 63-66 days and milk production in dogs is usually started at advance stages of the pregnancy. There is no hard and fast rule for the milk production in dogs. Mother dog can produce milk on any day after 53-55 days of gestation.

    In some dogs, milk is produced 2 or 3 days before delivery of puppies. In some dogs, milk production is delayed until the delivery and starts after the delivery of the puppies.
