Bi-polar is a depressive disorder/form of depression.  When you are in the depressive state of the disorder, sometimes suicidal ideas or thoughts can occur.  You don't say whether or not you have been treated with meds, but if you are feeling suicidal, you should call your counselor or suicide help line or someone you can trust.  With depressive disorders, our minds are at the mercy of our chemical imbalances, and this is what leads some who are suffering with the illness to think of suicide.

Here are some resources for you on support and helplines if you are feeling suicidal, and also info on bipolar depressive disorder.  Please talk to a professional or to someone you can trust as soon as possible, and whenver you are feeling this way. Hang in there, things will get better.  I wish you the best.

I have been dx with bipolar for almost ten years now.  I have never stayed on meds and just "dealt" with everything.  I recently had such a bad drinking and pot binge along with other factors it sent me into a mental hospital.  While there I got put one meds and learned so much about this disease.  I highly recommend finding a group to go to it helps a lot.  I am a lot more compatible with who I am.  I also learned that the actual suicidal thoughts and attempts mainly happen during the mania stage when you start to come back down, because you don't want to come back down.
Best of luck to you, I was anti meds for a long time but they have made me able to function normally but still be me, so if you are not on them I recommend finding a doctor who can at least give you an antidepressant.

Bipolar disorder can and does lead to suicide in many people.  I have tried multiple times.  NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND, wants to die, but in a mental state, it may seem like the only answer.  That is a sign that you are not in your 'right mind'  The disease is in control, and you need to get help fast! 2 more words 'medication compliance' is the treatment that works well for me.

Bipolar disorder can often lead the affected people to conduct suicide. However there is no such thing as suicidal bipolar.
