My Maltipoo Seems To Have A Fever And Is Crabby. He Is Up To Date On Shots And Only Goes Out To Potty. What Is Wrong?

My dog has a fever but is still eating and using the bathroom OK. He is very crabby and barks at every little noise. Very unusual for him.

Intestinal parasites are an unlikely cause of fever especially without diarrhea or vomiting.
Common causes of fever include infection (viral, bacterial, fungal, or protozoal), pain/discomfort, inflammation, tick borne diseases, immune system diseases, and pancreatitis.  These are just  a few causes of fever.
Have your dog examined by a veterinarian to make sure this is not a serious illness and does not progress--sounds like this is early on and he is still feeling pretty good.

Have you had him dewormed lately?  Even if he is an indoor dog, he can get worms.  He needs to be dewormed on a routine basis every few months.  The medication comes in a syringe and is usually flavored and cost around $5.00 or so you can buy at your local vet.  You don't need to have an appt.  you can do it yourself.  You just squirt it in the dogs mouth and the dogs usually like the taste.  The vet can tell you how often you need to deworm your dog.  This may not be whats wrong though.  I would call your vet for the best advice.  Maybe the dog has an infection or is just sick but only the vet can tell you what is best for your dog.  I would say to make sure he is eating and drinking and keep him/her well hydrated.  That can make the dog fade fast if he/she gets dehydrated.  I would call the vet.  Good luck to you and the dog.
