What Is A Network Key?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A network key is something that is used to store information regarding mapped network drives. Each network key is generally made up of several sub keys that the computer is connected to and once a user logs in it gets reconnected. Wireless networks that connect a number of systems together usually do not require traditional systems like Ethernet or wire based networking to connect to each other. This raises a number of security issues that did not earlier exist. These include security issues related to authentication of computers allowed to join such a network and encryption of data so that unauthorised personnel may not eavesdrop on the network. It is generally recommended that a large key with random characters be the only type used.
