Alzheimer's disease.
In a study of nearly 2000 older ethnic Japanese people in the USA, who initially showed no signs of dementia, those who were least likely to get Alzheimer's after ten years were those who had 3 or more servings of juice weekly.
Any juice seemed to help: Most of the respondents had apple, orange or grapefruit. People with a genetic susceptibility to the disease had the greatest improvement.
It's thought that compounds called polyphenols, common in tea and wine as well as juice, may be the protective factors.
Daily drinking of cranberry juice seems to be especially beneficial. It reduces the risks of heart disease among people with high cholesterol, tooth decay and repeat urinary tract infections in women.
Pomegranate juice may help protect unborn children from developing schizophrenia (read more), or slow the progression of prostrate cancer in men (read more).
Drinking orange juice can reduce the risk of stroke -- although this finding is in the context that increases of any dietary fruit and veg normally lower risks related to heart disease.

I know that drinking juices with antioxidants in them lowers the risk of diseases. The mangosteen fruit which is only grown in the Southeast Asian countries is known to have over 40 of the strongest antioxidants in the rind of the fruit. These are called xanthones which can have a positive effect on nearly all of the body's systems. From increased energy to boosting our immune system and protection from free radicals that plague our body. Scientific researchers have been studying the mangosteen for decades.
Mangosteen in Southeast Asia has been valued for centuries in being a beneficial health aid to citizens of such countries as Malaysia, China, Cambodia, Thailand,Vietnam to name a few.
There is scientific proof that the mangosteen being used as the whole fruit can and will deliver benefits that may help the body's defenses against such illness as Alzheimer's, Cancer, Diabeties and a host of other conditions. Want more proof? Go to www.mymangosteen .com and www.whymangosteen.com check it out. I bet you'll be surprised at the benefits in this little fruit.
