Listed as a World Heritage Area, Ayers Rocks is located in the Northern Territory of Central Australia.  Also known by its' aboriginal name Uluru, Ayer's Rock can be visited when touring the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.  Ayers Rock, or Uluru, is a sacred formation to the Aboriginal people of the area and it reaches a height of three hundred and fourty-six metres.  Visitors to the large rock are challenged to an hour long hike up the rock however, to do so, one must be in top physical condition.  Not only is the hike a steep uphill hike but it is also a challenge that is attempted under a hot desert sun.  At least fourty deaths have occured at Ayers Rock, mainly due to heart attacks, among tourist attempting to climb to the top.  Not only is Ayers Rock a sacred place to the Aboriginal people of the area but, it also has many supertitions surrounding it.  Beware not to take rocks from the area as those who do will be cursed and misfortune will seek, and find, them.
