    Annelids are basically a large Phylum of animals. They mostly constitute of segmented worms. This phylum has approximately 15,000 modern species of animals including earthworms and leeches.

    Following are the characteristics of Annelids:

    - They live in wet environments.
    - They have a length of under a millimeter to over 3 meters.
    - They are bilaterally symmetric.
    - They are triploblastic protostomes with a coelom.
    - Annelids have a closed circulatory system with true segmentation.
