There is no difference between these two bonds in terms of conditions. You can also purchase savings bond from your state controller's office or you can contact many people who deal in savings bonds. These people will come to your house and provide you with the necessary. Buying bonds is not a big hassle and anybody can do it. Savings bonds help a lot in future if you are short of finances after your retirement.

    Most banks in the USA still make themselves available for the consumer to purchase savings bonds. You can also visit the USTreasury.gov There is a link that will bring you to purchase the bonds on line. It is there that can also download the savings bond wizard to keep track of your paper bonds.
