Kohlrabi is a small and stout variety of cabbage having a good nutritional food value. It has a high Vitamin C content. The name Kohlrabi came from Germen, where Kohl means cabbage and rabi means turnip.
Here is a recipe to prepare Kohlrabi:
1 lb small kohlrabi bulbs
½ cup finely chopped onion
2 tbsp butter
¼ cup whipped cream
3 sliced green chillies
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Trim off the leaves and cut the kohlrabi into crosswise slices. Take a pan and pour water into it. Boil it. When it is full boiled, put the kohlrabi slices into it and boil it for more 8-10 minutes till tender. Now take a saucepan and put the butter into it and heat it to melt. Add onion and green chillies with pepper and salt and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Now add the kohlrabi into it and cook for another 10 minutes. Remove it from heat now, and put it in a serving bowl. Now sprinkle the fresh lemon juice over it and add the cream on the top in a thin layer. Enjoy!
